Case 13 Application of power amplifier in ultrasonic elliptical vibration system
Name of experiment:research on cutting with elliptic vibration path of tool tip
Research direction:ultrasonic elliptical vibration system
Experiment content:
UEVC system is a full-wavelength longitudinal vibration transducer excitation, to obtain more power, improve the amplitude, and simplify the design of the tool bar and optimize the prop clamping, positioning, making the system more stable, significantly improve the rigidity of the system, so as to reduce the processing surface chatter. Using UEVC system, the influence of parameters controlling the deflection of tool tip ellipse trajectory on the residual height and surface quality of the machined surface was studied, and the influence of different cutting parameters on the machined surface during UEVC cutting was studied.
Purpose of experiment:
The effect of deflection of elliptical tool tip trajectory on cutting was studied by using UEVC device, and the microprism microstructure machining experiment was completed.
Test equipment:
UEVC system (sandwich piezoelectric ceramic transducer, guided wave band, tool head, single crystal diamond tool), metal thermocouple, digital thermometer, signal generator, ATA-3082 power amplifier
Experimental process:
(a) Ultrasonic Power Supply (b) Digital Thermometer (c) Site of Test Temperature
The working temperature detection process of elliptical vibration system:
A high power, voltage and frequency adjustable ultrasonic power supply is used to excite the transducer, and the temperature of the front cover plate of the transducer is measured through a digital thermometer connected to a metal thermocouple (resolution 0.1℃). The ultrasonic power supply is mainly composed of a signal generator and a power amplifier. The excitation frequency of the signal generator is set to 96.8khz, and the power amplifier is amplified and output to the transducer by a voltage of 3V. The temperature of the transducer increases accordingly, and it needs to wait for the measurement when the temperature reaches the balance. When the voltage is 114V, the working temperature of the two transducers reaches equilibrium at about 70℃. In order to develop the performance of the transducer and improve its life, the operating temperature of the transducer is generally lower than 80℃.
Result of experiment:
The phase-change tool tip ellipse trajectory deflection model adjusts the phase difference of the dual-channel signal generator, and the tool tip amplitude data is measured by the high-frequency laser vibration measurement system to verify the actual control ability of the UEVC system tool tip ellipse trajectory. The measurement results are shown in the figure below:

(b) y-Pirection Point Amplitude
