The Application of the ATA-308C Power Amplifier in the Study of Near-Field Active Electric Field Localization Technology
With the increasing development of underwater resource exploitation and exploration of underwater environments, the demand for research on underwater positioning technology is growing. Underwater near-field active electric field localization technology, inspired by the electro-sensing mechanisms of weakly electric fish in nature, shows potential for detection and localization in shallow waters and short distances. The system establishes an underwater electric current field by controlling the transmission power and electrode layout. When the target object enters the electric field, differences in electrical properties (such as conductivity and permittivity) and geometric characteristics cause different disturbances in the electric field. The corresponding detection electrodes receive these disturbance signals, which can then be used to determine some properties of the target object.
The ATA-308C power amplifier from Aigtek, with its linear amplification circuit, features low distortion and high stability. It covers a bandwidth of DC-30kHz and supports the amplification of arbitrary waveforms, meeting the testing requirements of various experiments.
Experiment Name: Research on Near-Field Active Electric Field Localization Technology
Experiment Principle:Underwater near-field active electric field localization technology, inspired by the electro-sensing mechanisms of weakly electric fish in nature, shows potential for detection and localization in shallow waters and short distances.

Experimental Process:A voltage signal generated by the signal generator is amplified by the ATA-308 power amplifier and applied to the transmitter electrode plate. The signal is then received by the receiver electrode plate. Since the data acquisition card can only measure small voltage signals, a resistor attenuation circuit needs to be built, and the signal is transmitted back to the upper computer through the data acquisition card. The three-axis motion mechanical platform can move the target object in both horizontal and vertical directions.
Application Directions: Underwater Localization
Application Scenarios: Underwater autonomous obstacle avoidance navigation, biomimetic underwater robotic fish
Product Recommendation: ATA-300 Series Power Amplifiers
